There is high interest in the electrical andthermal conductivity properties of graphene. However, they play a key role in mediating redox function and thegeneration of radical oxygen species in biological applications. Their application as anti-pathogenic agents isonly now being appreciated and deemed scalable. This talk will focus on graphene (G) and grapheneoxide(GO) nanomaterials as ultrathin films to result in anti-microbial properties. We also describe thepreparation of very stable colloidal templates of graphene with anti-microbial properties. Interestingly, thesecolloidal particle templates can be used to prepare virus nanoparticles that can have theranostic applications.Lastly, we demonstrate their use as 3D printed devices with low toxicity for biomedical applications.
