Liquid AFM Imaging - June 19, 2020

Liquid AFM imaging is a technique that obtains topographical or nanomechanical properties of samples under liquid conditions. The major difference between in-liquid and in-air imaging is the laser alignment, due to the change in the refraction index. Nevertheless, the Park Systems Liquid Probehand simplifies this process. Liquid AFM imaging is particularly helpful to measure samples in which morphology will change in air, like organic or biological samples. This session will demonstrate how to image in liquid. A Park NX10 AFM system will be used to explain the hardware setup, basic principle, and data analysis.
