Summary

This study reveals that BiFeO₃ thin films with engineered stripe-domain patterns exhibit a unique circular bulk photovoltaic effect (CBPE), generating photocurrents dependent on light polarization. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) characterized surface morphology, while piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM) mapped ferroelectric domain orientations and dynamics, confirming well-defined stripe domains crucial for CBPE. The coupling between ferroelectric domains and polarized light enhances photovoltaic responses. These insights enable design of advanced optoelectronic devices leveraging domain engineering for efficient light-driven energy conversion.
